Week 3 featured an SEC clash between Alabama and Florida which featured a freshman RB by the name of Emmitt Smith, a Heisman showdown between Tim Brown and Lorenzo White in South Bend and #8 Clemson hosting #18 Georgia in a classic southern rivalry.  

Week 2 featured a top 5 matchup in Lincoln between UCLA and Nebraska, while the defending champs hosted Alabama and Notre Dame opened the season in the Big House against Michigan.  We also preview and give you the odds on the 1987 Heisman race. 

We set the table for the start of the 1987 Season.  Who are the teams to beat? Who is considered the Heisman favorite? Who are the new coaches? And what are some of the biggest storylines.  Week 1 started with the Kick-Off Classic and featured two key matchups in the Top 20 with #6 LSU visiting #15 Texas A&M and #20 Florida visiting #10 Miami. 

We are trying something different this off-season here at It's College Football.  We are going to take a look back at a season in College Football history.  Our inaugural series will take a look at 1987.  We will follow the season from week to week and highlight some of the big games and big moments from the entire season.  We hope you like it.
